ASFU brings educators, clinicians and coaches together around one idea: every movement decision is a mechanical decision about force, direction, dose and tissue tolerance.
Raise the standard of movement education worldwide
ASFU exists to give fitness professionals, coaches and clinicians a rigorous, mechanics-based education they can complete from anywhere. Our programmes turn biomechanics from a descriptive subject into a practical method for deciding what load to apply, in which direction, how often and for how long.
We teach online by design, not as a substitute for a campus. Video motion analysis, structured case work and live seminars are built for remote study and assessed to published standards.
Educators, clinicians and coaches in one professional body
We chose the word Union because ASFU joins practitioners across sport, fitness and rehabilitation under one shared standard of practice. A union of professionals can work alongside universities: it sets the professional standard, and partner universities provide formal academic recognition.

How ASFU is governed
Academic decisions sit with the Academic Board, separate from the Board of Trustees, so that standards are protected from commercial pressure.

Holds legal and financial responsibility for the organisation and approves strategy.
Academic Board
Approves programmes, assessment regulations and awards, and oversees academic standards.
Quality & Standards Committee
Runs annual programme review, external examining and student feedback cycles.
Programme Committees
One per school. Tutors and student representatives review delivery each term.
The Founding Collective
ASFU was founded by a collective of movement scientists, clinicians and educators with doctoral training in movement and health sciences and long careers in sport, rehabilitation and coaching. They built ASFU around one shared method: describe the force, then decide the dose.
